Pear Life in English, this company also puts out the Captain Stag line of outdoor goods. As soon as I got a hold of this pan, I whipped up some baby back ribs. In less than 30 minutes the meat was falling off the bone. My first experience using a pressure cooker, there are plenty of recipes online and on YouTube.
The 6.5 liter, 6.8 quart size which I ordered is big. The next size down the 5.5 liter or 5.8 quart is just under what many recipes call for, although I may order a smaller one for side dishes in the future. This is heavy duty material and should last for a long time. The bottom is plenty thick. All stainless steel construction except for the layer of aluminum in between the bottom layers for good heat transfer.
Two settings II = 100 kpa = 14.5 lbs of pressure, I = 60 kpa = 8.7 pounds. If the pin for the locking mechanism inside the lid is extended, make sure the rubber seal goes inside this otherwise you won't have a proper seal when cooking. Noticed steam coming out of the handle area when I was making pot roast for lunch the second day. Just quick release and reset, then you're ready to go.
Altogether I think I've cooked 5 meals in this pressure cooker already in 3 days and am loving it. So much faster for a long cooked flavor, am enjoying the deglazing process, and using metal utensils in cooking again. This is pressure cooker in general related I suppose, the one issue I noticed is that canned tomatoes for pasta sauce and coconut milk for curry retained intense, sweet flavors. Will need to adjust recipes accordingly.
Overall I couldn't be happier with this product and its price (￥4,980)! Just noticed as I was writing this review, they do offer replacement rubber seal rings and valves if you need to order them in the future.
